Percussionist, Composer and Educator Larry Q. Draughn Jr. has been cultivating his rhythmical approach for over three decades now. Having shared the staged with Branford Marsalis, Joey Calderazzo, Roy Hargrove, Neena Freelon, Eric Gales, and many others over the years, he is now back home exploring sound with the NC Jazz Continuum Project. This group features Devin Fuller and Lynn Grissett at the core and focuses on original arrangements of NC Jazz Icons like Nina Simone, John Coltrane, and Max Roach. This performance will feature two of his 5th Grade students he is currently working with: Jaelin Moore and Davis Long.
